Wake On LAN

Wake On LAN is an innovative application that offers the convenience of remotely activating your PC using the Wake on LAN (WOL) protocol. It allows you to turn on your computer without being physically present. For the utility to work, it's necessary that your motherboard and Ethernet card are WOL-compatible, a common feature in most modern PCs. You also need to enable WOL in your BIOS settings and operating system.

The app is designed to potentially function over the Internet, although this feature is not guaranteed. They've included a handy App-Widget for quick access to enhance user experience.

To use this utility, you'll need a WLAN-Router, a PC or Notebook, an Android device, and an Ethernet crossover cable. Establish a connection between your PC and router with the cable. Make sure your router permits UDP Broadcast packages. Enable the WOL feature on your PC, both in the BIOS and in the operating system. Obtain the PC's IP address as well as the necessary port for WOL, then enter these details into the Android device after linking it to your WLAN-Router. Lastly, use the hostname of the PC selected on your Android device to initiate the wake-up sequence.

Please note that most computers will not respond to a WOL request unless they are in a standby or similar low-power state. By utilizing the application, you can streamline your workflow, offering an easy and efficient solution for remote PC startup.
